Learning a new language is boring and generally, when you've learned it, you find that when a native speaker speaks to you in this language they speak so fast you can't understand them.
So you need to go and live in the country for 2-5 years to learn to speak it naturally.
This book gives you the ability to 'Cheat Time' and take a far shorter time to learn a language, and actually learn to speak and understand it at the speed that a native speaker speaks it.

Because I can easily read a book and a half in a day now. I learnt lots of obvious but really useful tips for improving reading speed ~ just the first few pages helped me identify what slows my reading speed (for me it was mostly losing concentration & re-reading the same lines), the book offers simple techniques to improve eg using a bookmark/hand to control and pace the speed you read. I confess I didn't have the patience to do any of the exercises [Andy's book remains the only one where I actually got a pen & did that] but my reading speed got ten or twenty times faster right away just by skimming Breakthrough Rapid Reading, no doubt there are equally good/better titles on the subject but this one gave me what I needed and I can enjoy & process a mountain more information than I could last year. The most revealing thing was it really doesnt stop me absorbing & retaining the same (possibly more) detail as before. Parts of the book were boring & I didnt get to the end but the main lesson has proved invaluable so Im recommending it for the subject above the title.

This is a great little book. In a few pages it manages to get across how to deal with change in your life in the best way possible. It also tells you how to deal with change when you hadn't or didn't want to notice it happening. It is only a simple story but it manages to convey what many self help books take 300 pages to describe with respect to focussing on what you want to happen and taking action to make sure that you make the best out of any situation.

In a nutshell it has given me the courage to go and find new cheese and make sure my current cheese doesn't go mouldy :-)
